Julia Harris

Instructor

Julia was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan! She moved to Raleigh in 2021 with her husband and three children. She grew up dancing and always enjoyed a good sweat. It wasn't until she had a back injury in 2019 that she ramped up her workout regimen to keep her body strong and live a pain free life. With a new mindset toward physical activity, Julia fell in love with all things yoga - the movement, the stillness, the philosophy behind it. She is so happy she found YoBa, which encompasses everything she was looking for in a studio.

When not practicing yoga, you can find Julia as a family photographer, exploring her new home state with her family, or sitting by a fire with a good book while sipping tea.

Get to know Julia:

Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner:

I enjoy a yummy acai bowl and latte, but I also love a savory dinner paired with good company!

Favorite Classes at YoBa:

Yoga and Strength. I love yoga for the mindful aspect- being able to close my eyes and feel the movement coupled with breath, as well as the stillness before and after class. Strength is another favorite because it's similar to yoga but with a greater muscle focus!

What has YoBa meant to you?

YoBa is my happy place. I love walking into the lobby, greeted by a smiling face. I enjoy the feeling of heat when I walk into the studio room and the smell of the signature scented towel at the end of a class. The entire experience is nourishing.

What's your ideal movement schedule?

I love to take 3-4 classes a week in addition to flowing on my own to prepare for class. I also enjoy a good hike or spontaneous dance parties with my kids!
